Every Day: Gold Medal Advice for a Happy, Healthy Life!
Shannon Miller (Introduction), Nancy Ann
Richardson (Contributor) / Paperback / Published 1998 Shannon Miller, the most
decorated gymnast in American history, has won sixteen medals and is
one of the sports world's most positive role models. Yet none of it
would have happened if a little girl from Oklahoma hadn't dared to
dream ... and followed up on that dream with hard work, commitment,
and a firm belief in herself. "I've learned to be disciplined and
organized in order to balance gymnastics, college, and a social
life," says Shannon. But how does she do it? And is that kind of
focus within your reach? Yes! With friendly, upbeat advice,
Shannon shares how she succeeds in being a winner both inside and
outside the gym.

Kidnastics
Using a child-centered approach, this book aims to
empower the instructor to challenge students to improve their movement
through manipulation of the practice environment and the sequencing of
their movements into routines with partners, in threes or small groups to
develop co-operation and teamwork. It uses five movement categories
(rolling, jumping, balancing, vaulting and hanging/climbing) and a total
of 70 skills divided into 16 themes without those five movement categories
to teach gymnastics. A three-step process is used of practicing,
sequencing and performing. Photocopiable task cards are included so that
students can select task cards and develop their own routines. No special
equipment is required. Paperback: 176 pages |

Letters
to a Young Gymnast (Art of Mentoring)
Nadia Comaneci
A unique glimpse
into the remarkable life, and fascinating mindset, of the woman who broke
records-and boundaries-for female athletes everywhere. If there were such
a thing as an "elder" stateswoman in women's gymnastics today,
Nadia Comaneci would win that title as readily as she once won gold
medals. Olga Korbut came before her, and many other medallists would
follow, but none has ever been as dominant in winning the hearts of
millions around the world. With grit and determination, Nadia Comaneci
ushered in a new era for women's sports, one where young girls could vault
into the arena of superstardom. Even today, almost thirty years after her
greatest triumphs, you need only mention the name "Nadia" and
gymnastics fans know instantly whom you are talking about.
